The relationship between the depth of the submersible sewage pump and the head

Recently, I encountered a customer asking this question, which was that the customer said: "I want to buy a submersible sewage pump

that should be placed underwater by about 5 meters deep, and then discharged to a 5-meter-high urban pipeline network. In this way,

how many meters of head should the submersible sewage pump be selected? Is it 5 meters plus 5 meters of water depth? That is, I have

to choose at least 10 meters of head?"

Maybe everyone doesn’t think much about this issue. Let me explain it here. In fact, the correct one should be the 5-meter head, not the

10-meter head. Why?

Because without doing work, the water from the bottom to the water surface can also rise through atmospheric pressure. So these 5 meters

can be ignored, that is, the head of 5 meters is enough.

So when encountering problems like this, everyone knows how to choose. Of course, in reality, factors such as the loss of submersible sewage

pump pipelines should be considered. If you have any problems or selection issues, please contact us Dingfei Pump Industry in time.
