How to Use an Air-Operated Diaphragm Pump

AODD pumps offer a range of advantages, but also have some specific installation requirements.

Following these guidelines will help avoid various costs and damage to the AODD pump:

They must be mounted on a robust base or surface, as the pump's diaphragm mechanism causes it

to vibrate during operation. The suction and discharge ports should be flexible (such as rubber hoses),

not ribbed tubing, and should be compatible with the pumped fluid.

The fluid inlet suction pipe or hose should be at least the same size as the suction port. Failure to comply

with this rule will result in pump starvation. It should also be as short as possible and as close as possible

 to the supply container.

Ensuring the correct size of the air supply line is crucial. Using an undersized air pipe will result in insufficient

compressed air. AODD pumps require adequate airflow to operate effectively.

To regulate the flow and pressure of the AODD pump, an air pressure regulator assembly should be installed

in the pump's air supply line to regulate the input air pressure.
