Causes and Analysis of Submersible Sewage Pump Motor Overload

A common problem with submersible sewage pumps is motor overload, leading to motor burnout.

What are the specific causes? Today, Dingfei Pump Industry will analyze the main reasons:

1. Submersible sewage pumps are relatively new products in the national industrial production sector,

developed in recent years based on market demand. The industry lacks unified standardization policies

and regulations, not to mention the guidance and explicit regulations of relevant national laws. Therefore,

there are no industry standards for submersible sewage pump motors and related components.

2. Some manufacturers' submersible sewage pump motors have lower power ratings than advertised,

causing the motor to operate under overload conditions.

3. When pumping sewage, the sewage concentration gradually increases, and if workers do not clean up

in time, it can cause machine overload. When the motor is operating on a medium with a density greater

than 1.3, or reaching 1.5-1.6, the motor's power coefficient is relatively low (between 1.05 and 1.2).

4. The normal operating clearance of the bearings is blocked by mud and sand, and the clearance at the

impeller connection is also blocked by mud and sand, causing the bearings to malfunction and resulting

 in component overload.

5. The selected head is too high, differing significantly from the actual operating head, causing the motor

to overheat or burn out due to overcurrent.

6. During machine operation, impurities accumulate in the pump body, causing excessive blockage. The

impeller components are braked, leading to overload within the normal operating range. Under this abnormal

operation, the motor operates with the pump body blocked internally.

The above six points are summarized by Dingfei Pump Industry based on the actual situations of its customers.

We hope they are helpful to our customers. Of course, for any questions about submersible sewage pumps,
