ALLWEILER product core technology analysis: from screw pump design to intelligent monitoring

As a German pump manufacturer with more than 160 years of history, ALLWEILER has accumulated a profound technical

foundation in the field of fluid treatment. This article will systematically analyze the technical characteristics of ALLWEILER's

main product lines from the four dimensions of product design concept, core technical parameters, application scenarios and

intelligent monitoring systems.

1. Three-screw pump: high pressure, low pulsation and high reliability

The three-screw pump is one of the most representative products of ALLWEILER. Its technical advantages are mainly reflected

in three aspects: screw linear design, high pressure bearing capacity and adaptability to wide working conditions.

Patented screw linearity and low pulsation characteristics

The ALLWEILER three-screw pump adopts a patented screw linear shape, which controls the pressure fluctuation below 1.5%.

This indicator is at the leading level among positive displacement pumps. The nearly pulsation-free flow output characteristics

make it ideal for industrial applications requiring precise flow control. The smooth conveying process also brings low noise and

low vibration operation performance, making it suitable for places that require quiet operation.

Serialized products cover diverse working conditions

ALLWEILER three-screw pumps form a complete product matrix, covering a wide range of needs from conventional lubrication

 to high-pressure hydraulics:

Series Maximum Flow Maximum Pressure Typical Applications

SNA Series 880 L/min 20 bar Industrial Lubricating Oil System, Compliant with API 676 Standard

SE series 55 L/min 160 bar oil hydraulic device, high pressure scenario in machine tool industry

ALLIFT SU series 820 L/min 80 bar hydraulic lifting system, lubricating oil supply

The SNA series provides up to 12 configuration options, supports tripod or flange installation, and can flexibly adjust the inlet

and outlet positions; the SE series focuses on the high-pressure field, with a pressure-bearing capacity of up to 160 bar.

Medium adaptability and self-priming ability

The three-screw pump has extremely wide adaptability to viscosity. The SNA series has a viscosity range of 3-760 mm²/s and a

temperature range of 1-250°C. The precision meshing between the screws enables efficient handling of high-viscosity fluids

without excessive friction losses. In addition, this pump type has a self-priming function, which has obvious advantages in scenarios

such as ship fuel transportation and oil supply that require self-priming capabilities.

2. Single screw pump: efficient transportation and quick maintenance

ALLWEILER's single screw pump product line is centered on ALL-OPTIFLOW®, AE series and OPTIFIX™, and is designed differently

to meet the needs of different working conditions.

OPTIFLOW®: optimized flow regime and high flow output

The ALL-OPTIFLOW® series is a product developed by ALLWEILER to optimize the operation of the system. Through precise

adjustment of the flow pattern, power absorption and distribution, and lubrication system, it ensures the long life of the pump

and the highest operating efficiency. The flow rate of this series is twice that of traditional pumps, the maximum flow rate can

reach 3,800 L/min, and it can handle high solid content media at a pressure of 6 bar.

AE series: high solid content media handling capabilities

The AE series single screw pump has outstanding performance in solid content handling capacity. The technical indicators of the

two main structural versions are as follows:

Series Maximum flow Maximum pressure difference Maximum temperature Maximum solids content Maximum viscosity

AEB-E/N/H (integral) 2,900 L/min 24 bar 100℃ 60% 300,000 mPa·s

AE-E/N/H/V (bearing frame type) 7,500 L/min 48 bar 150℃ 60% 300,000 mPa·s

The AE series can transport media with a solid content of up to 60% and an upper viscosity limit of 300,000 mPa·s. It is used for

transporting water, wet sludge and flocculant liquids in sewage treatment plants.

OPTIFIX™: A revolutionary breakthrough in maintenance efficiency

The core innovation of the OPTIFIX™ series is the quick-change system. Its patented zero-clearance short-axis connection and

high-quality universal joint design make the maintenance time of the pump body only 1/3 of that of traditional pumps; the special

disassembly tool allows direct replacement of the stator and rotor without dismantling the inlet and outlet pipes, achieving the best

mean time to repair (MTTR) among similar products; the ready-to-use replacement kit can shorten the spare parts preparation time

by 60%.

When used with ALLDUR® stators, the service life of the pump can be extended by 500%, significantly reducing life cycle costs.

3. Centrifugal pumps and marine pumps: meeting the challenges of energy transition

ALLMAG series CMA centrifugal pump

ALLMAG series CMA centrifugal pumps are the core products of ALLWEILER marine pump solutions and are renowned for their high

performance and reliability, continuing to set industry standards in terms of efficiency and durability. This series is suitable for strict

marine application conditions and meets the long-term stable operation requirements of marine equipment.

Special three-screw pump for alternative fuels

Faced with the trend of the global shipping industry transitioning to alternative energy sources such as methanol and ammonia fuels,

ALLWEILER has launched a new three-screw pump specifically designed to handle alternative fuels. This innovative product is

designed to ensure seamless and reliable operation of the ship's power system during fuel type switching. “Our pumps are designed

to handle it all, ensuring reliability and efficiency in all conditions,” said Michael Gaiser, Senior Director of Global Commercial Marine

 Sales at ALLWEILER.

4. IN-1000 intelligent monitoring system: from passive maintenance to active maintenance

IN-1000 is an electronic fully automatic monitoring system developed by ALLWEILER for critical and environment-sensitive application

scenarios. Its technical architecture adopts a master-satellite network topology, which can centrally monitor multiple pumps and can

be modified at any time to adapt to existing equipment.

Core functions and values

Fully automatic continuous monitoring: record operating data for later evaluation, and abnormal conditions are immediately displayed

on the main module

Multi-terminal alarm push: information can be synchronized to the control room and mobile devices to achieve remote monitoring

Lower operating costs: Minimize unplanned production downtime and losses, reduce maintenance and spare parts costs

The IN-1000's modular design allows it to be flexibly adapted to a factory's specific needs, and pre-configured settings allow for quick

optimization.

5. Key points of selection and application: taking single screw pump as an example

Taking the sewage treatment scenario as an example, the selection and application of ALLWEILER single screw pumps need to pay

attention to the following technical points:

Speed selection: Although high speed can increase the flow rate and lift, it will accelerate the wear of the rotor and stator. It is

recommended to keep the rotation speed below 300 rpm through a reduction mechanism to significantly extend the service life.

Impurity protection: Solid impurities will damage the rubber stator. A grille or crusher should be installed in front of the pump and

cleaned in time to prevent blockage.

Anti-dry operation: The screw pump must not be operated when the material supply is cut off, otherwise the rubber stator will be

burned out instantly due to dry friction. Some models are equipped with a material cut-off stop device, which automatically stops

when a vacuum is generated in the cavity.

Outlet pressure protection: When the outlet of the positive displacement pump is blocked, the pressure continues to rise, which

may burn the motor or damage the transmission components. An oil return valve should be installed at the outlet to stabilize pressure.

Conclusion

ALLWEILER's product technology system reflects the comprehensive strength of German manufacturing in precision processing,

material science and system integration. From the low pulsation design of three-screw pumps, efficient maintenance solutions

for single-screw pumps, to the energy transformation response of marine pumps, to the intelligent operation and maintenance

management of IN-1000, ALLWEILER is using technological innovation to drive the fluid processing field to evolve in a more

efficient, reliable, and sustainable direction.
