Causes of faults in self-priming sewage pumps with little or no water absorption

Working principle of self-priming sewage pump: The self-priming sewage pump has a liquid storage chamber in the pump body, and is 

connected to the pump working chamber through the upper return hole and the lower circulation hole, forming the pump's axial return 

out-mix system. After the pump stops working, a certain volume of liquid has been stored in the pump cavity. When the pump is started, 

the liquid in the pump is thrown upwards under the action of the impeller, and the liquid is returned to the working chamber through the 

grid of the gas-liquid separation tube, and the gas is discharged from the pump, forming a certain degree of vacuum in the pump, achieving 

the effect of self-priming.

In the actual use environment, there are many customers who have reported that the self-priming sewage pump absorbs less water or even 

does not absorb water directly. What is the reason?

First, it does not work within the suction range of the self-priming pump. Generally, the suction range of the self-priming sewage pump is 3-5.8 

meters. When the suction range is greater than this value, it will definitely not absorb water.

Second, the installation reasons are due to the limitations of the vacuum that can be established at the suction port of the self-priming sewage 

pump. The suction range of the absolute vacuum is about 10 meters high, and the self-priming sewage pump cannot establish an absolute vacuum. 

Moreover, the vacuum is too large, which can easily vaporize the water in the pump, which is not conducive to the work of the self-priming sewage 

pump. Therefore, self-priming sewage pumps have their maximum allowable suction range, generally between 3-5.8 meters. When installing a water 

pump, do not just make it convenient and simple.
